John at Velocity Car Detailing in Melbourne has provided an exceptional service for me detailing my car and adding ceramic surface coating. Great customer care and advice was provided throughout the process and John was also very accommodating with regards drop off and collection times.

I had a very disappointing experience with Velocity Detailing, also known as Car Spa Valeting. I originally booked my car in with Velocity Detailing for full-car PPF, with XPEL PPF agreed through messages and in person. XPEL was heavily advertised by them, and it was stated on my invoice that XPEL PPF was used. However, after paying circa £6,000, the finished job had multiple defects including lifting, peeling, bubbling, staining, glue residue, missing coverage and other issues. I was also not provided with a warranty card or proper paperwork. I returned to Velocity on three separate occasions for rectification, but the issues were not properly resolved. This caused significant inconvenience, requiring me to take time away from work and personal commitments. Rather than taking ownership, Velocity repeatedly shifted the narrative. For example, when the splitter PPF was peeling, I was told it must have been my fault. They also later claimed my visits were impromptu, despite messages showing the dates had been agreed, including one described as a PPF review appointment. I later contacted XPEL and was told Velocity was not an authorised XPEL installer, which was concerning given how heavily they advertised XPEL and confirmed its use to me. I then found out the work had actually been subcontracted to Lionshield, something that was never disclosed to me before or during the booking. As a customer, it is unacceptable to pay one business and only later discover another company carried out the work. Whilst there are attempts made to say sub contracting is normal, if Lionshield was completing the work it would have made more sense for me to have gone to them directly especially since they have the experience with XPEL to ensure any remedial work would be carried out correctly. To advertise a service you do not carry out yourself is misrepresentation and false advertisement. Callum from Lionshield later contacted me, reviewed photos of the defects, acknowledged the issues, and offered to fix them at no cost. However, by this point the car had already been back three times without a proper resolution, so I no longer had confidence in further remedial attempts. I requested a refund instead, especially as removal and refitting of PPF carries risk and further cost. The situation then became more confusing, with Callum stating I should only deal with Velocity because it was a subcontracted job, despite previously offering to rectify the issues himself. Velocity also now appear to state they use a different film brand rather than XPEL, which raises further questions given their previous marketing and the invoice for my car. The vehicle has since been independently inspected and the installation was confirmed to be extremely poor. Despite this, the parties involved have treated the matter as closed and suggested I go to court if I have further issues. Overall, between the poor workmanship, repeated failed repair attempts, lack of transparency around subcontracting, missing paperwork, and responsibility being passed around, I feel Velocity Detailing and Lionshield handled this matter very poorly. I struggle to see how any reasonable business can justify undisclosed subcontracting, releasing a car with significant defects, failing to repair it properly, and then refusing a refund.

Very disappointed with my experience at Velocity Detailing. I had PPF work carried out and unfortunately the job fell well below the standard I expected and what was mutually agreed. There was no accountability or aftercare to top it off.

Extremely poor customer service and a complete lack of accountability. A business is judged not only by its successes, but by how it responds when things go wrong. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing & aftercare was lacking and there appeared to be little willingness to stand behind the work carried out. Based on my experience, I would not recommend.

Based on my experience with Velocity, there were a number of concerns with the final finish and quality. There were numerous issues which were raised but unfortunately not dealt with. Velocity had a greater desire to ignore and attempt to blame me rather than take accountability and rectify. For a premium-priced service, the overall standard of workmanship and aftercare did not meet expectations. Would suggest others do careful research before proceeding. And to ensure you visit other detailing establishments who arguably offer a better overall service and package.

John carried out a full valet on our 2013 Volvo XC60 and brought the car back to near showroom condition both inside and outside. This was the second time we have used Velocity Detail and can't praise them enough. John was courteous and helpful in all correspondence. Excellent personal service and a competitive price.

From start to finish John was very helpful and professional alongside being very friendly and gave us advice on what to do with our brand new Land Rover Discovery. We chose not to have it done at the dealership as we were unsure who would be completing the work. We tend not to change our cars very often so chose to have the full paint correction and ceramic coating . We are delighted with the end result and have taken on board all Johns advice for looking after the car going forward. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this business .

Very happy with the job carried out for me by John. A 2 stage correction followed by a ceramic coating produced fantastic results. A few weeks on & I can see the benefits of the coating having used the car & carried out a full clean myself. Would very much recommend

Reached out to John for quite the extensive job (Removal of old PPF, new PPF & ceramic coating). Informed him of my concerns and what my expectations were. And he smashed it out the park. Car is looking factory fresh and will do for many years to come thanks to the brand new PPF.

John at Velocity Detailing has done an exceptional job on my car. Including paint correction, extended front-end PPF and ceramic coating, and the results are unbelievable. It’s an 18-year-old car, but he’s completely brought it back to life. It now looks as good as new. His attention to detail is outstanding, his knowledge second to none, and the quality of the finish speaks for itself. The aftercare has been excellent too making sure I can keep it looking this way. I researched the local market carefully before picking John at Velocity to put a ceramic sealant application on my brand new Volvo XC60. I chose not to have it done by the main dealer as I wanted a truly professional finish. John immediately identified a number of paintwork defects caused by inferior valeting by the dealer but was able to rub these out. I left the car with him at his first-class facilities, a short hop from East Midlands Airport. He has done a fantastic job and the car looks better than any I have ever owned. I’m pleased I decided on Velocity, as I plan to keep this vehicle for many years and wanted it to be protected from the get-go. He is fastidious in attention to detail, takes a delight in the quality of his work and definitely goes above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. His after-care guide and service is excellent.
