**FOR NEW CUSTOMERS – BE WARNED** If you're considering visiting this garage for the first time, I strongly advise you to think twice. I went in for a basic coolant flush, which they charged £119 for. Within 48 hours, my entire coolant tank was empty and the fluid had leaked all over the ground. When I brought the car back in, they claimed they needed to carry out "investigation work"—despite the fact that the issue clearly stemmed from the job they had just done. They kept my car for over three hours without providing any updates. I had to call them myself to find out what was going on. I was told the car was “fine” and ready for collection, yet they made no mention of why the coolant had disappeared or whether the leak had been resolved. Then came the worst part—they tried to charge me £150 for the diagnostic check, even though the issue was caused by their original work. After I challenged this, the price mysteriously dropped to £70. Completely unacceptable. Garages like this give the industry a bad name—unprofessional, careless, and quick to deflect blame for their mistakes. This was my first and definitely last visit. If you value your vehicle and your wallet, I recommend staying well clear.

AVOID - I brought my car here for an MOT and foolishly I trusted Khalid who insisted on replacing the front suspension. Less than a year later, the front suspension failed and we returned the car to Smith & Hunter. Their mechanics couldn't fix the problem so they sub contracted an Audi specialist (who fixed the problem easily). The problem was related to Smith & Hunter's original faulty installation of the replacement front suspension. We were charged over £7,000 over two visits and were at the mercy of Khalid who kept inventing prices for work (which his mechanics either made worse or didn't know how to do). Give this place a wide berth. They win business due to location and 'historical name'. @Khalid - the car is a grey Audi A6 - VRN starting LF56. I'm not one to leave a negative review (in fact I really don't enjoy this), but on discovering it was your work that caused the further issues with the car and paying you over £7,000, i feel duty bound to leave a public review. @khalid, I am voicing my discontent here, as it has since become clear that the problem with the air suspension in October 2025 was down to your mechanics incorrectly installing this part in June 2024. The underlying issue with the car was caused by you! If you don’t know what you are doing, you should say so and not make the customer pay a mark up on you taking the car to a proper mechanic. An Audi specialist would have completed the work for 30% of what you charged. You were opaque with all your pricing and marked up parts by over 500%. I don’t regard this as fair.

Took car for MOT, charged me £50 first for a new plate which was fine but they FAILED my car MOT even though i got new plates purchased with them so it PASSES. I don’t like the fact that my high value car will have a FAIL next to it for reasons they didn’t communicate. I’d avoid for their not upfront. I even had even mails to make sure it doesn’t happen & had it in person too.

We’ve had our two cars serviced here for many years, and the experience has always been effective and efficient. Khalid at reception is consistently available, hardworking, helpful and solution driven, making the process seamless. His team takes care of everything and goes the extra mile to resolve car-related issues. For example, on my last visit recently (for a full service) and upon my request, they were able to quickly order and then fix my car’s antenna. They did not charge extra Labour time for this despite the trouble. Highly recommended for their reliability, customer care, and convenient location if you live nearby.

I walk by this garage at least 2x a day so was excited to use them for my MOT (new car owner). Very communicative and responsive, fit me in the next day (I was not expecting that). While I left my car there in them am, I noticed in the pm when I went to pick up that there was a small scratch (I'm maniacally careful with my car, I only park in quiet areas to avoid these types of scuffs, only drove 1,000 miles in a year). I was upset, said I dropped this off without a single flaw so I found this unacceptable. Khalid remained cool, calm and professional. He said it's incredibly surprising as they are very careful with all their customer's cars (of course they have to be - but things do happen) but he did the right thing and immediately fixed the mark the next morning for me, free of charge. This has won them a life-long customer in me and I will make sure all my friends and neighbors use them as well. I think it's important to support local and I felt like they really cared about me as a neighborhood customer. They did not want to make it contentious and wanted to make sure I was very happy with the service which I think speaks volumes and is very atypical of a garage who could have just said it's not their problem.

Great they came to do a call out and fix the tyre on my car - friendly and helpful a little expensive but it’s central london would use again

I cannot comment on the quality of the service, which was probably ok, but I paid £830 for a service including brake fluid on my BMW 2 series, which has done 27,000 miles and had no faults. When I booked it said on the website I believe £300 plus parts. I couldn't believe the total sum charged. The price they charge for parts - oil and filters - makes their servicing price totally unreasonable.

Stay away from this garage as it is run by grifter's. I took my car here on two occasions. On the first they changed my battery which I was told was new. I recently had someone do a service on my car and I asked the chap to look at my battery. I told him about the replacement and he looked at me and said what replacement that battery is not new but old. The second issue was that I paid to have my car horn fixed as it worked intermittently. After collecting my car the horn worked for a few days and then stopped. I called to tell them what happened and they asked for more money. I asked how much was a genuine Toyota horn and they told me it was close to £200 when you can get it for £60 from Euro Car Parts. There is something off about the guy at the reception called Khalid. He can not look you in the eye whenever he talks to you and that is telling.

Had the worst experience ever at this garage with my Renault Trafic van. They took thousands of pounds from me for shoddy and bad quality repairs and promised things they couldn’t deliver. Honestly would not recommend this place to anyone - the worst garage I’ve ever used.
