Soapy's Hand Car Wash

Typical hand car wash with very basic service. Chemicals they use after wash to make the car shine is actually damaging to plastic external trimmings and leave a permanent mark.

I took my car to be cleaned back in Nov and when I got home 2 miles away I noticed they did a poor job. Fair enough, can't expect a perfect job everytime. I rang them immediately and they agreed to clean my car for free next time. Went back in Dec, a month later and they wouldn't accept the offer they made for the free wash. I showed them the picture messages I had sent of my car last month to their number at the time, but 'as the boss wasn't there,' they couldn't honour the free wash. I tried calling their main number again, hoping to get in touch with the boss whilst there, but no one answered and so said they must charge. I asked them to call their boss to verify this, which they refused. They became quite aggressive but I stood my ground,as proof was provided with the messages re ieved from their boss the month before and told them is was down to them to verify this discussion with their boss and not me, if that's what needed ro be done. They eventually gave up and cleaned the car and I was on my way. Just visited again for the wash and go, which is advertised at £3.50, although they said that as the car was dirty they would charge £5 (surely all cars are dirty that visit?). The car was no more dirty than every other car there, but I am guessing that this time they had a chip on their shoulder and wanted to charge me more. I see that they offer a wash and dry for £5 and so I assumed that this is the service they were providing, I was wrong. Again, another disagreement with them about how dirty the car was and how I felt it wrong for them to charge me more (bear in mind this is a small mini cooper). They told me not to come there again and they referred to when they gave me a free wash last time. They didn't quite understand that if they cleaned it properly the first time, it would have been fine. They really don't like feedback, and show this by being rude and agressive

Took my van to be washed and have had my Alloygators (a product that covers the outer rim of the alloys to protect from scuffing) ruined as the knock off products used bleached the black plastic. These were black, in perfect conditon on 6 month old black alloy wheels. The fact they even put tyre shine on and didn't mention it made the insult worse, it wasn't until I got home I saw the damage. I have seen a professional product truck there before so I checked the website and their wheel cleaner is plastic safe so clearly the products used must be cheap knock offs. Of course when you ring the number to discuss you conveniently can't get through. I have to now spend another £170 to get these replaced. I shall be taking this further but in the meantime please use ny experience as a warning and also see some other similar reviews

Very disappointed with my recent visit. I've been a loyal customer for years, but this time I felt they were taking advantage of an elderly pensioner. The quality of the work was poor and appeared rushed, with areas clearly missed and little attention to detail. For the price charged, I expected a much better standard of service. After many years of using this car wash, I won't be returning.

Best place to get your car washed. Always do a great job and we'll organised. Always tip too....

Advertising £10 for car wash & was charged £12 😡

Learnt the hard way. I was always warned not to use these types of car washes because of the harsh chemicals they use. Unfortunately, I ignored that advice and always took my car here up until my last visit two weeks ago. After the wash, I noticed all my wheel nut caps had been stripped and damaged on all 4 wheels, clearly due to the products used. This ended up costing me £65 to replace parts that were perfectly fine beforehand. I’m glad it was only the plastic caps that were damaged and nothing more serious, but it’s still unacceptable. I won’t be using this car wash again.

I’ve had such a bad experience in this place, I went in to get my car washed as normal but when I went back home I have seen that the paint came off When I returned, they said we were not responsible

Great service my car was in a real state and had not been cleaned for 3 years. When I collected it the car looked as clean as the day I got it 👌

If I had read these reviews before I went yesterday I probably wouldn’t have done, that’s why I wanted to leave this. I took by partners car and then returned with my own. The staff were lovely and polite. They were very efficient and did a really decent job, very throughly cleaned the inside and out of both cars and I could see there attention they were paying to the details, making sure they didn’t miss bits or going back over anything that wasn’t quite right. There was 1 small water mark on 1 car, which I would say is pretty impressive. Some of the staff were friendly than others, that’s just people but all of them guided me through, kept me informed and even helped. Me navigate leaving the court yard. Really good job and I will certainly be going back.
