Rays car wash

I drive from Bexley to use this car wash, staff are always friendly and helpful, prices are good as well!

The first thing you’ll notice is the queue. I think I was waiting 40 minutes to get my car washed. However, once you get in - you realise why. The wash they provide is significantly better than other places that move through cars very quickly. I think my car was being actively cleaned for a good 25-30 minutes for inside and out. The people are all friendly and I was very happy with the quality of the clean. I think the price is very reasonable - and no more than I’m usually charged at places that get you in and out in 10 minutes. So nothing to complain about - but try to go on a week day or be ready to queue for a while.

Cash only, lots of people running about like headless chickens,(all smoking) but no structure to the washing. Site is filthy and untidy. Wash was not good. Won't use again.

My car was very dirty and they did a great job with no complaints. My usual car wash never cleaned the roof (large tall van sized car) other than to briefly spray it with the pressure washer. These guys literally stood on chairs to get to it. They did a great job at a great price. I even pointed out to them that it was very dirty expecting to have to pay more but he offered me a deeper clean or the standard wash at the standard price. Voluntarily paid a little bit more as I was so pleased with it. Friendly too. Will definitely be back!

Been coming here for years. I used to bring my old car here regularly, and now that I’ve upgraded, the service has been just as great—if not better. The guy took his time to properly explain the different types of washes and what things like wax and polish actually do, which really helped me understand how to look after the paintwork and keep the car in good condition. He even gave me a little deal on today’s wash as a “new car” treat, which I really appreciated. The car is looking and smelling amazing. Honestly, other car washes don’t compare. A family member of mine who lives 90mins away comes up and uses this car wash over their local one which speaks volumes.

I’ve used Ray’s Hand Car Wash for a long time and the guys have always been really nice, which is why this is so disappointing. I bought my current car in November. It’s only had one previous owner and it did not have any of these marks on it. Since then, I’ve only ever brought my car here and never had an issue before. Yesterday after my wash, I noticed visible swirl marks and scratches across the paint, especially on the bonnet and left wing mirror. These marks were not there before the wash, but were clearly there afterwards in direct sunlight. For anyone reading this, these types of marks are known as swirl marks and are typically caused during contact washing when grit or dirt gets trapped in cloths or sponges and is then dragged across the paint. Even a small amount of grit can cause visible scratching, which is exactly what this looks like. There were around 4–5 workers cleaning my car at the same time, so different areas were being worked on with different cloths and pressure, which explains why certain panels like the bonnet are more affected. I contacted the business straight away with photos, but my concerns have been dismissed and I’ve not had a proper response since sending further images. I now need to get this professionally corrected, which I’ve been quoted up to around £350, for a wash that cost me around £20. I’m really upset by both the condition my car has been left in and how this has been handled. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I won’t be returning.
