Gleam Clean

Please avoid. Bought a car back in March and it spent half of the 3 month warranty with the garage "supposedly" being repaired. Was told by the owner to just live with an oil leak and reminded that we had bought a cheap car!!! Months later we now realise that above mentioned repairs were just bodged jobs and have now had to pay out a substantial amount of money to get them fixed properly. Extremely angry and disappointed in the service we received.

The guys at gleam clean were fantastic, knowledgeable and helped me through every step of the process. Cant recommend enough.

Booked my car in for a last min MOT. They made space to do it. Under new management/ownership and its as good as the previouse owner.

Bought my first car here a few years back, never had an issue until now, after this last MOT I will never come back here again. You would imagine that after failing an mot you would get a phone call to advise you of what needs to happen and the costs involved but instead they’ll just assume it’s fine and go ahead. The reasoning being “we would only call if it’s a ‘real’ expense. Apparently paying double what you were originally expecting isn’t worth their time to spend 2 seconds on the phone and you only find out AFTER they’ve done the work. They have also done this in the past where they took it upon themselves to run emissions cleaner and empty my petrol tank without a word as well but I just assumed this was an error in comms, nope they do it routinely. Not only that but you get the pleasure of someone being sarcastic and taking the mickey out of you down the phone clearly audibly to his mates in the shop when you ask the reasonable question about it. Oh and the managers response when i told him about it? “Sorry you feel that way”. Do yourself a favour and buy a car somewhere more professional. Absolute jokers.

Graham and his team nursed my rather chipped 911 back to showroom condition. Service and value excellent. This is the place to go for cars with bodywork that needs some TLC.

Graham and his team have just done a fantastic job removing some deep scratches on my car and then ceramic coating it, looks amazing. Have always had fantastic service having used them many times in the last 40 years, would have no hesitation in recommending them.

I have had dealings with Gleam Clean for many years, both buying a car and bodywork repairs. I have always found the staff very helpful and friendly. The standard of work is excellent, at very reasonable prices. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you are looking for someone who is reliable and affordable.

I have just bought my third car from Graham and the team - this time a Mercedes Estate for my wife. I am not silly - checked online and knew what I should be paying - pleasantly surprised would be an understatement for what Graham offered for our budget! Full history, immaculate vehicle and the comfort of buying from someone who has been in the trade for over 40 years with an enviable reputation to protect. Passionate about his business and backed by an excellent team.

I’m really disappointed with my experience at this garage. When I first went to buy my car, everyone was lovely and helpful, and the process seemed great. Unfortunately, things changed soon after. Within a week of owning the car, it started making a squeaking noise. I took it back five times, and each time I was told something different had been fixed or replaced, yet the noise is still there to this day. I was even told “not to worry about it,” even though it clearly isn’t normal for a car to make that sound. When I first rang them about the problem, I was told to take the car to Kenvad Tyres, as that’s where their mechanics were based. However, when I called again for the fourth time, I was then told to bring it to Gleam Clean instead, because that’s actually where their mechanics are — they said the previous ones had been off sick or on holiday. That would mean they’d been off for over a month, which made me think nothing had even been fixed properly, as the information I was given completely contradicted itself. On one of the visits, my car had to stay overnight and I was given a courtesy car. I made it very clear that I have a black box fitted in my car for my insurance and asked them to be careful when driving it. The mechanic even said something along the lines of ‘that means i can’t be a boy racer then’ then they all laughed. The next morning, I checked my black box app and saw that three separate journeys had been made, and the person driving was speeding the entire time. This could have caused me to lose my insurance — it’s completely unacceptable. Not long after that, my car started pulling to the left, so I had to take it back again (for the sixth time in three months) to get that sorted. As a young girl who went through this process on my own, I feel really let down and taken advantage of. I’ve spent more time taking the car back than actually enjoying it. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all based on my experience — they need to take more care and responsibility for the cars they sell and how they treat their customers.

I’ve been extremely reluctant to write this review, but I have had issues with the car I bought for a year and after the most previous incident I need to write this. There have been so many problems throughout the year that I can’t withhold this any longer. I bought a car from here April 2024, my first car. I paid £500 cash and the rest on card. Over a month after buying the car I received threatening and intimidating call from the seller saying I owed him £500, as he never declared it was given in cash. He intimated and bullied me and I had to get my step dad who knows the owner, to sort this out. A day after buying the car, my boot stopped opening, I took it back to have this resolved and it continued to do so afterwards, due to the incident with the £500 I didn’t want to go back afterwards. A couple of months after buying the car, the exhaust pipe and back box developed holes and caused extreme noise and difficulty driving. After taking it to a reputable garage they said that these holes had been in the car for some time, before even buying it most likely. Severe fails took place in the MOT, including an extremely eroded brake pipe, which the garage found very concerning upon viewing and repairing the car as it looked like it had been there for a while. Most recently this month, I punched my tyre and decided to use the spare the given to me with the car I bought. The tyre was the completely wrong side and I was left stranded and had to call someone out on a Sunday to come and give me two new tyres, I do not recommend this dealership in anyway, they are rude, intimidating and are dodgy to say the least. Do not buy from them!

Very well priced cars and excellent customer service. I had my Vauxhall Mokka with them and they assisted me all throughout. I had a bit of problem with the seatbelt sensor and minor issues and they replaced it all with the three month warranty. They are reliable and very skilled with what they do. Will definitely recommend them. Five 🌟 stars!

Really nice guys who took great care of me and my MINI when it decided to act a bit funny, even offering to extend the “warranty” time if I had another issue after the 3 month period. Runs great now! Bonus points for the squirrel employee

Gleam Clean did a first class job in renovating my 1997 Volvo 940 estate, which I have had a since new. The bodywork was looking very tired, and rusty in places, and a number of replacement body and mechanical parts were required which are no longer readily available. Graham and his team rose to the challenge of sourcing all the necessary parts (some of which were tracked down overseas), and restoring the exterior and interior to virtually showroom condition. The cost was very reasonable and excellent value for money. Gleam Clean have previously carried out some smaller jobs on this and my other car (a Volvo XC90), and I can thoroughly recommend them.
