Dealt with Marcus. Got me in for a bumper respray at very short notice. Super professional, quick service and very easy to deal with. Bumper was sprayed from black to silver which I had heard from other garages would be very hard to match but they've done a perfect job, could not be happier 👍

I have waited a year before writing this review. After repairing the vehicle, I decided to move on. However, I recently came across another customer describing a very similar experience after purchasing a Category N vehicle from this company. That prompted me to finally share my own experience. To be fair, Bannister Auto were honest that the Jeep was a Category N write-off. They made it clear that the vehicle was sold as seen and that they did not road test their vehicles. I accepted those terms. Before travelling from Scotland, I specifically asked to see photographs of the damage before the repairs had been carried out. I was told that the last photograph in their Gumtree and eBay adverts showed the damage. That photograph only showed what appeared to be a minor bump. When I collected the vehicle, I was again told that it had only sustained minor damage. Because I was travelling all the way back to Scotland, I made it clear that I needed to know the vehicle would get me home safely. On the day I collected it, the Jeep was moved from the street into the garage and left idling for around 20 minutes. It appeared to run perfectly. Based on the photograph I had been shown, what I had been told and how well the vehicle seemed to be running, I believed I was buying a good car at a bargain price. Unfortunately, the vehicle broke down on the motorway during my journey home, with smoke pouring from the engine. I had to arrange recovery, find a local garage and pay several thousand pounds for extensive repairs. The garage informed me that the vehicle had sustained considerably more damage than I had been led to believe. It required a replacement gearbox and clutch, the suspension had been replaced, and the front bumper had been replaced and secured with cable ties. I contacted Bannister Auto, explained everything that had happened and requested a refund. They never responded to any of my correspondence. after all the repairs were completed, the Jeep has turned out to be a good vehicle. However I was misled about the extent of the previous damage when I specifically asked to see it before travelling hundreds of miles to buy the vehicle. Based on my experience, I found Bannister Auto to be dishonest. I gave them the opportunity to respond and resolve but they chose not to. I cannot recommend buying a Category N vehicle from this company.

Just had a bodywork repair done on my car at Bannisters. So pleased when I saw the work that had been completed. My car looks so smart again. Lovely job done, reasonable price and repaired quickly. Everyone is so pleasant and friendly. We already take both cars to them for services and MOT’s and wouldn’t hesitate to return to them or recommend them to others.

Had MOT carried out yesterday with Bannister Autos and they were great brilliant service from start to finish.

I can't praise these guys enough. Very genuine honest people. Such a lovely family. I bought my first car the in a rush 6 years ago. We got a long from the first day I met them and they made me feel so welcome. As a lone female buying a car, Mark and his family offered me full support in making my choice. Since then, I have not been anywhere else to buy a motor. The first car I bought I passed to my son. Still running well, with plenty of life left in it. Brought myself another from them and one for my other son. Never had any problems. I also have introduced my pals who have purchased a car and are very happy with what they have got. These guys are genuine and will source a car if you have a preference. Amazing experience. The whole family are like my family now. It's great x

First class customer service. My Kia Xceed was in need of surgery after an accident. Marcus examined the damage and told me that it was repairable but some of the parts could be on back order. I made follow up phone calls during the next few days. The phone was always answered promptly and the latest progress on the repair explained to me. Incredibly, a week later, the job was completed and the car returned to my home address. It looks immaculate, completely restored to mint condition. I can wholeheartedly recommend the team at Bannisters for their workmanship and customer service.

Whilst the price of the job was a bit vague at times, it ended up being fair, and my battered and bruised Mazda emerged looking like a new car, after five years of hitting things. The people were very nice, and I can understand that it is difficult to offer an exact quote until you know what you are dealing with. I trusted them, was delighted with the work, and would use them again.

I came into this garage and they quickly did the job while I waited in the office. Bang on place and trustworthy man highly recommend.🤝

Great service ,had 3 cars off them now .Always helpful and nothing is touch much trouble. Honest ,reliable and would recommend them .

Caution advised. When purchasing a car here last year, it was not a smooth experience. From the very start, communication was atrocious - enquiries to the online advert were met with blunt one word answers, and attempts to arrange viewings delayed or dismissed, almost as though they didnt want to sell it. One viewing was cancelled (without telling me, I had to chase it up because of radio silence) because one of the mechanics was supposedly using it as a personal commuter car, despite it not having tax or a valid MOT - one of many little lies they fed. When I eventually came in to view the car I was kept standing around for 20 minutes despite them expecting me. Knowing it was Cat N, I asked what work had been done to the car, I was fed the little lie that it had come to them "as you see it"... despite it being visible on Google street view with a smashed front, hence being Cat N. So they'd replaced bodywork and bumpers which I knew already, but they weren't willing to admit it. Against my better judgement, and in that typical time pressured viewing scenario, I took a risk on it. The man told that I had to pay in full upfront, they dont do holding or deposits. But I'd have to leave my new car there because it needed an MOT, an an extra £50, of course they couldn't include that... They had not applied for the log book either, so that was further expense via the post office on the way home. I purchased an online check for the car and saw that it had indeed been bought from a car auction as a Cat N with front bodywork in need of replacement. They should've just been honest about that. Over the next few days I called two or three times to see if it was ready for collection, each time they'd just hang up or say they'd get back to me, which they didn't! They made me feel like I was unnecessarily pestering them, when they had thousands of pounds of my money and, what was legally now my car. At this point I was worried as they'd already taken full payment, which was a huge risk and I'd put a huge amount of trust in them, which wasn't paying off with the worrying lack of willingness to talk on the phone. Eventually I arranged to collect my car, having waited over a week for the MOT... I rushed over from work on the evening that we'd arranged collection for, only to find they were locking up! The receptionist said she probably should have called to see if I was coming - unbelievable. One of the lads eventually pulled up with my car and gave me the keys with an air of contempt, perhaps he was the one supposedly using it for personal use (without its log book, tax or insurance). Such miserable service. All in all, an unprofessional experience dealing with these disorganised and dishonest guys. The car was also covered in scratches and dents which they said they'd buff out for me if I bought it, they didn't and the car was coated in months of road dust when I collected it. Recently discovered that there is no spare tyre or jack in the boot either so thats another expense to invest in. All in all, listen to your gut. I ignored the red flags when I should've walked away.

Wonderful family-owned garage and a real gem that we will be using in the future. Purchased a new car, messaged on Sunday morning asking to view the car and despites then being closed they actually opened specifically so we could have a look! Nothing was too much work and got a beautiful car that I have been after for an amazing price. They even put the MOT on it and liased with the post office regarding tax/ log book. Honestly cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much!

Bannister Autos, Marcus and his team, did an outstanding job diagnosing a fault with the petrol pump on my Focus and fixing it. The 2003 car now drives like a new car again. These are people who care about what they do and are knowledgeable and skilled in car repair. Communication was also excellent. Highly recommended.

I had a great experience at the garage today. Mark and Marcus were fantastic, friendly and really helpful. They gave me some excellent advice and went above and beyond to make sure everything was sorted. I really appreciated their honesty and support.
