Hi I left my BMW 1250 with James from shinny side up for stage 1 remap filter lights & bits& bobs from the moment I met him I knew my bike was in safe hands and with a true professional he treated me like he was a mate straight a way started with a coffee and a chat all about the bike and what he can offer ( no sale pitch at any time) his knowledge & professionalism really did shine through the bike was a different bike than the one I brought over he completely transformed the bike 100% better power gearbox noise and performance definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A 300 mile round trip on my R1250RT to see James today, and I was not disappointed. A VERY warm welcome to his amazing set up. Started off with a detailed questionnaire to pin point exactly what I wanted from the remap. Then the magic started, after fitting an DNA stage 2 air filter James reintroduced the now updated ECU. Where to start: I think the word is SMOOTH...the throttle response is now instant and smoother in all gear ranges. Changing through the gears is more responsive and the engine revs meet the changes, no more lumpy engine. Again it's all smooth. The biggest area of improvement by far is the low down in the slow stuff, filtering is now...you guessed it smooth, so much more engine and throttle response keeps the bike centred and makes slow manoeuvres easier. I must tell everyone just how much this has improved my ride. Get intouch with James and see what he can do to help you. You will not be disappointed.

James is absolutely awesome at what he does and doesn’t pressure you into anything, he installed a few upgrades on my bike on the first visit and then supplied all the other parts for a self install due to him being fully booked. He was able to give advice and on the end of the phone when I needed him. Can’t fault his service at all and won’t go to anyone else in the future.

Top class service by James. Only went and had my tft display updated to the newer look with added sports display. With added 5 stage grip heaters and running drls on my front indicators. However I am now looking at other work to have done on my gsa1250 in the future and will be definitely taking it back to shiny side up. Cracking job mate and also thanks for the exhaust servo eliminator. See you soon !

What a delight meeting Mr GSA JAMES. Nothing was to much trouble for him. Everything explained as he carried out the work with coffee and cake flowing. Absolute brilliant job and can certainly recommend a very genuine guy.

What can I say about James? From the second I arrived until the moment I left his focus was on me, what I wanted and making sure I got it. No arrogance, no trying to flog me extras I didn’t need and being pushy, just focusing on the job at hand, explaining what he was doing and politely answering all of my inane questions and making sure I was happy with the finished product and that the job was ton to perfection. Seeing him work and his meticulous nature was brilliant. Everything in its place, purposeful and neat. The service was outstanding and James made everything about the MotoLights install feel special and catered to everything I wanted. He provided recommendations on things he would suggest I do or configure and we worked together to get a final result I was over the moon with. Would I recommend? Hell frickin yeah!

I booked my BMWR1300GSA in with ShinySideUp before Christmas for a February installation of Lone Rider Moto lights. During this time I spoke with James about some other modifications including additional rear lighting , exhaust enhancement and ceramic coating amongst others. I have to say that James has turned a great bike into something quite special and I'm really pleased with the results. He is incredibly enthusiastic about his work, very knowledgeable and delivers an outstanding installation and finish. Well done James, highly recommended!

I wanted to add a few bits to my R1300 GSA so I ordered them from James at Shiny Side Up. I’m not the most technically minded and managed to get in a few pickles trying to wire things up. I contacted James and he talked me through what needed doing and now everything works perfectly. I highly recommend Shiny Side Up and wouldn’t hesitate to deal with James again 👍👍

Took my MT-09 SP to James for some much-needed TLC and I couldn’t be happier. James made me feel welcome straight away — even offered me a cup of tea and some Oreo biscuits which was a great touch! You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and their bikes. The shine on the tank alone told me it was going to be a 10/10 job. We also found a few rusty bolts, so we took them out and cleaned them up — and James even let me help polish them, which I really appreciated. As someone new to biking, he also took the time to explain how to properly look after my bike. Top service, top guy, and incredible results. James is such a lovely chap, so friendly and eager to help and give advice on anything motorcycles. He did a ceramic coating on my speed twin and I couldn't be more happy, highly recommend this great guy and his work.
