My husband and myseld have been using this company for a few years and very honest with their service and they fixed my wiper water jat problem for only £25 and I used to try to fix this problem with Audi dealship a few times and Audi dealship did not fix it for me but charged a quite hudres for the bill. So our family trust this company and we always come to this garage for all our car problems. Highly recommended!

WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE AFTER TODAY!! (Please read entire review) After my visit to Mowbray Motors today, not only have my faith and confidence in mechanics both been restored, they have just gotten themselves another customer for life. My truck, a 2017 Ford Ranger Wildtrak 3.2 TDCI called Black Beauty (BB for short), is my absolute pride and joy. She's my first truck and I bought her because of my love for this specific make and model. However the joy of owning her was nearly ruined by an orange and black corporate-run chain; They made lies and basically gaslit me into believing my truck was an absolute death trap that would cost THOUSANDS to make 'roadworthy' again. They also knew I'm a woman and Autistic so I feel like they took advantage of that fact. Twice they refused me for a so-called "Tampered DPF" and a "Major oil leak pooling and puddling on the ramp". I honestly cried for days until my partner and me found Mowbray Motors online through a google search. My partner convinced me to walk up there with him on Thursday July 2nd 2026 and see if they could help us. The gentleman we saw was busy working on a car but seemed all too happy to talk, stopping what he was doing to help us. I explained the situation as best as I could whilst stumbling over words (my autism makes it very hard to talk to people especially if I've had a bad experience before. The Halfords mechanics scared me but this gentleman, Ali I think his name is, made me feel comfortable and was very patient, listening whilst I spoke). After managing to get out what was wrong, he booked us in for today at 09:30am. 09:30 Today (July 6th 2026) my partner drops off the truck at Mowbray Motors as I had a bad panic attack thinking the truck would fail again. And she did BUT not on anything major at all and she passed with flying colours as I had Mowbray do the repair work there and then. She needed some bulbs replacing and an oil filter change and then boom! MOT Passed. NEVER, EVER, EVER use corporate chains. I will be a Mowbray Motors customer FOR LIFE!!!! Thank you all so much at Mowbray Motors for getting Black Beauty on the road again, she's been sat there unable to move for wayyyy too long.

Have just had the most wonderful experience going to Mowbray motors. They were so helpful, and friendly., sorted the issue out straight away. I recommend them to all. Fantastic service!

I used them a few years back when I moved into the area. They charge the same money as big names on high streets, but I always have that attitude to help local businesses and give my hard-earned money to someone local rather than a big corporation. What happened to me was a pure scam I just realized. I arrived in a garage with an engine issue. I agreed on diagnostics, one hour's worth of work, nearly 100 pounds. I agreed after a survey, being informed, "We know what the problem is and it can be sorted for approximately 360 pounds, but it is not for sure it will be resolved" exactly in that time I should cut my ties and seek proffesinals that can sort my issue. I was also asked to do full periodic maintenance as a part of these works, which was nonsense as the car had just been fully serviced. I was told that in order to fix the issue, they recommended it, which should have set me back an additional £180. I refused, paid the initial £100 for diagnostics, and planned to pay the rest when the work was done. When I went to collect the car, it had the same issue nothing had changed. Now I'm being told that £100 for parts and £100 for labor are due, but the car is having absolutely the same problem. 300odd pounds out of pocket for not fixing my issue, and not to mention the car's steering and floor mats are covered in oil stains. I nearly paid an additional £180 as a recommendation from the owner, which could set me back nearly £500 total. And to the initial point of the car with the issue, I trusted my intuition and did not pay for recomended service I don't need. so I would avoid them like the plague. Seek professionals that either can sort your issue or at least try to guess your issue and don't charge for it. It is not my fault they cannot resolve the problem. He shouldn't start in the first place if he has no understanding and skills to sort out the issue isntead he choosed the money instead of sahing i cannot fix the issue AVOID AVOID AVOID Seek real professionals.

Avoid. Tried Mowbray Motors out and was very disappointed, exorbitant, painfully slow and zero customer service. Took nearly three weeks for a simple fix, broke parts and charged me to replace them, charged three times was RAC quoted (never expected that!) and never called to provide updates, I had to call to chase every time. No apology received, just attitude.

Very kind gentleman checked the pressure in my tyres and didn’t charge anything :)

This is the second time that Tom at Mowbray Motors has taken a look at my car - and this time also filled up the oil and screen wash - without charging me! I find it difficult to trust mechanics elsewhere, but I know I can trust Tom and his son Alex completely. It's always a pleasure dealing with them.

Had a flat battery parked on the road nearby this busy garage, extremely friendly gentleman there dropped what he was doing immediately and got a jump pack and started my car, then declined offer of any payment for his time! He was so friendly and didn't make me feel like I was bothering him at all. Thank you so much, I would've been completely stuck without your kind help! Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to receive excellent customer service.

Took my car in for an inspection after a strong smell of petrol. They checked it and turned out I’d over filled the tank! No charge either! These guys consistently deliver. Feel very blessed to have them in the doorstep. Used them for years and will continue to!

My wife took our little fabia with an electric faulty wiper, never stopped ( even on the sunny day), very annoying After resetting,we been advised new switch need it and replacing will solve the problem And is true , problem solved, after a very positive experience with an honest transparent when comes to cost and possibly.
