I purchased a car from Barclay Motor Company back In September. Paid them £17,500. They offer a 3 month warranty and literally 1 day after that period expired the car developed a fault, wouldn't start and has now been off the road for 5 weeks and because this happened in the lead up to and over the Xmas holidays I couldn't get it into a garage to be looked at. I needed to have the car recovered by the RAC and delivered somewhere so sent it to a garage I knew might be able to help. Barclays weren't open when I tried to call them. When I called Barclay Motor Company today to tell them and see if there was anything they could do to help me the person I spoke to said "Its a 3 month warranty and it's with us so sorry about that" and hung up on me. No suggestions of help, no bring it back and we'll take a look. It's an up yours and we'll see you later. I understand that businesses like these can't underwrite the health of vehicles for ever but I don't use the car much and probably drove less than 1500 miles since owning it so their warranty was always going to be pointless. Do not buy a car from this company. They masquerade as charming, local and helpful to get your money but when it comes to it they will hang up on you as I found myself today!! Buyers beware. Update - £8417 spent in twelve months fixing stuff on this lemon.

I purchased a bmw for £10k last year and iv had nothing but problems. The 3 month warranty was pointless as they were so reluctant to help. Today iv received another bill of £3.1k due to timing chain and many other problems. The garage who currently have my car have found that the service history can't possibly be genuine and there is years worth of solid sludge built up that has destroyed the car. 5 times in a year my car has been in the garage!! The cars look fancy when you drive past but I have had nothing but problems from day 1 and unfortunately found the staff very unhelpful and patronising. I would avoid this garage at all costs

Bought a van in january, broke down after 72 days. They collected it on march 25th and refuse to give back £360 admin fee and ignoring email and also whatsapp message. Avoid at any cost. Greedy company.

David understood exactly what we were looking for in our ‘new’ used car. He found a low mileage, high specification SUV for us and took time and care to get it really well prepped. We got a fair price on our trade-in too. Overall, we are very happy with BMC’s service and would recommend them if you’re looking for a high quality second hand car from a professional and helpful dealer.

I paid 18.5k for my Jaguar xf. Adam seemed helpful during the purchasing of it. When I took it for a service at Jaguar, the report said that the engine undertray was missing, & that the sump was corroding. When I got in touch with Barclay Motor Company, I was told by Adam "it must have been missing, when we purchased it" !! So what ? I paid top dollar & expected a complete car. Absolutely garbage after service, rude & obnoxious. I wish I'd read the reviews prior to purchasing. Never again, & I'd recommend against using these cowboys.

Good honest car dealers. Had 3 cars off them recently. One issue ( sensor fault ) sorted promptly with no fuss. Great service and have recommended them to friends

Popped in the weekend to purchase a car, salesman was abrupt and didn’t seem interested in selling me a car, bought a similar car for similar money from another dealer on Monday! Not sure why this guy didn’t want the sale 🤷

Bought a Honda Jazz 2013 from there. There was an issue with the brake calipers unfortunately but other than that - very good nick and the gentleman who sold me the car stayed long after hours to assist me.

Highly recommend these guys! Wonderful customer service and talked me through everything as I’m not a car person. I brought a beautiful mini from them a few weeks ago and she’s stunning, got me to Scotland and back the first week I got it. Boyd was super helpful and lovely. Thank you guys!

I was looking for a trusted dealer with a low price and modest mileage for my niece who had a scholarship at Stratford. Delighted to find exactly that at Barclay Motor Corporation in a 2009 Chevi Wagon with service history and 41,000 miles. Only 2,495 pounds. Cheaper than their higher value cars they offered. I immediately paid a reservation deposit... My niece checked out the car but did not wanted a wagon... The following week I received a call back to Australia to get my credit card details to process the refund. Good old fashioned service. My experience backed up the other good reviews.

After calling to enquire about a vehicle that I wanted to buy and put a holding deposit on, the vehicle had been sold. The person on the phone was not sorry and sounded quite pleased that he had sold the vehicle. Awful customer service - left heartbroken as we really wanted this vehicle for our family

Purchased a VW Tiguan. Absolutely great service. Adam couldn't do enough to help even chased the previous garage to get the full service history. Would definitely recommend and very happy with my car.

Purchased a Jaguar XF R-Sport from here a week ago, to say I am chuffed is an understatement! Beautiful car in immaculate condition with full service history, new brakes, disks and freshly powder coated alloys prior to going on the market. David took me on a test drive that allowed me to see how the car performed on a variety of different roads. The process went smoothly from start to finish and I was made to feel that nothing was to much trouble, even sorting out the paperwork. Well worth the 200 mile round trip to purchase a car from Barclay Motor Company.

We purchased a VW Touareg from BMC and so far the service has been excellent, there have been faults with the vehicle (can happen with any vehicle) which BMC have quickly and effectively rectified. Collected my vehicle on a trailer and given me a loan vehicle to use - top service. 3 months warranty provided by BMC and so far they have stood by the warranty and provided a high level of service. Lovely car, great history, clean inside & out. Reasonably priced, wouldn’t move on price but happy to pay full asking if the car is right and the aftersale is decent which as mentioned seems spot on. Would buy another car from BMC and would recommend. Many thanks guys
