I just wanted to leave a review for the Shell petrol station on Brighton Road in South Croydon because the staff there are always so helpful and kind. Every time I visit, the team are polite, welcoming and genuinely willing to help if you need anything. It is something small, but it really makes a difference, especially when you are having a busy or stressful day. Customer service like that is quite rare these days, so it deserves to be recognised. The station is always well kept and the staff consistently go out of their way to be friendly and respectful. Thank you to the team for always being so helpful. It is very much appreciated.

Received a PCN at this Shell while dealing with a flat tyre - their air machine was broken, so I had to wait for a friend to bring one to inflate it. Appealed the fine but Shell did nothing to help or get it overturned by Euro Car Parks. Eventually won through POPLA, but the whole experience was ridiculous. Avoid this place, complete lack of support and unfair treatment.

Terrible customer service, very rude.

Worst expirence of customer services by a female staff behind the counter without having official uniform and name badge. She started arguing and bossing me around soon as I walked inside the shop to pay for fuel. I took some pictures of the premises for reviewing purpose which I explained her but she wasn't having it at all,kept saying I needed a permission and her aggressive behaviour and ill tempered left me bemused. Her name ASHMI she says she is a manager. I would never walk back in this store to repeat of such a pathetic experience. All those pics I had taken are attached i would really love to hear from shell officials/ senior business manager to explain it if there is anything wrong taking those pictures. If so I will delete them

£100 parking fine for waiting in the queue to use the car wash. Extremely poor way to treat customers.

This is by far the worst Shell station I’ve ever been to. The staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful – they act like serving customers is a burden. The pumps are often out of order, the forecourt is dirty, and the air/water machines are either broken or charge you unfairly. Prices are much higher than other nearby stations, and they don’t seem to care at all about customer service. I had an awful experience here and will never return. Save yourself the frustration and go to literally any other petrol station nearby – you’ll get better service and fairer prices.

I used the car wash and due to queuing for it while a tanker came to refuel, I got a parking fine. I thought I would appeal and easily explain but was horrified when I got a response that my appeal is denied. This is clearly a scam car wash service, as I was NEVER parked. I paid £9 for a service that is costing me £90 + £9! Make it make sense. Cruel scammers! I'll never go back and I hope noone does too. Wish I could give a -1000 review. Scammers!!!! Update: don't bother to use the link Shell provided asking for further information. They will do NOTHING but spew the garbage that it's privately owned. Shell is very much aware of this scam but refuses to do anything about it. Both Shell and the owners should be ashamed of themselves!!!

They installed a brand new drive through car wash which is a lot better than the alternatives around. Works contactless so you don’t even need to go inside the shop

We have also been sent a £170 parking charge/fine for queuing for the car wash as I can see has happened to others below. Wish I'd seen that before we used it! UPDATE This is the unhelpful and dismissive email I received from Shell after contacting them as they suggested. As you can see they take no responsibility despite trying to lessen the impact on their reputation by appearing helpful in their responses here. “Please be advised that Brighton Road Service Station is operated by TG Convenience Stores Limited, an independent business entity and not part of the Shell group of companies. Whilst Shell has an exclusive Fuels Supply Agreement with this company all ownership, licensing, and site processes are the responsibility of the Dealer. As such, Shell do not have any involvement in the shop operation.”
